Investing in Quality

Since the beginning of my journey to understanding my oven I've realized the importance of having well made and lasting appliances and utensils.

The Obvious :

The kinds of appliances you need for your home depends on the type of cook you are and what types of meals work best for your family. My family is a meat and potatoes kind of family, we do chili but not much in the way of casseroles.

Since casseroles aren't my go-to, I only keep 2 baking dishes and on hand. I focus mainly on having skillets, baking sheets and my slowcooker.

Fact : 2 of my kids will have a panic attack if any of their food touches another food.

My Dearest Ninja Cooker, I love you!

The latest appliance to join our home is our Ninja Cooker, it's a slowcooker/skillet/oven and it is lovelllllllly. In my opinion, investing in the Ninja Cooker was a very smart move. I use it all of the time and it's become a very helpful friend to me. :)  The same thing goes for my Rachael Ray cooking set. I got it years ago for Christmas and I still use the pots and pans. Last Christmas I was gifted a Pioneer Woman set and those gets tons of use as well. I am confident in these products.

Buy only what you know you'll use. This was a big change for me. I was in the habit of buying the latest/coolest thing. I'd get it home and I'd use it a couple of times then it'd sit there. It took up space and was a complete waste of money.

Investing in a good quality item is a smart move. I'd rather put money into an item (or set) up front and have that product last me years, than pay a cheaper price for an item that won't even last a year.

The names on the items I listed above aren't why I like to use those products. Their quality and dependability are. When you're a parent and have littles to keep you busy dependability goes along way .. yes, that even counts for skillets. :) Who wants a skillet to crap out on them while dinner is being cooked? not me!

Always do your homework before making a purchase, especially a large one.

Amazon will show a products rating, it's reviews and different buying options. When I need to do product homework I head straight to Amazon! Once I find something that grabs my attention I try to find it in store so I can check it out in person.

We rarely buy anything on impulse, there is always the homework process. This way we know what we're getting ourselves into.
