About our Christmas......

For years and years I had spent the few days before stressed and completely not prepared. I shopped, wrapped and even baked up until the festivities began. It was all too much. I decided to cash in on my sanity card and make Christmas simple and enjoyable. Christmas should not be a stressful time. By saving this stress I'm able to invest even more into my family, they get my undivided attention and a happy Mom.

Attention from a happy mom = wonderful memories

The Christmas List

This Christmas we compiled a list consisting of the people we're buying for, what we wanted to buy them and our budget per person. Having this list helped me tremendously! My Christmas shopping was completed 3 days ago and I did 95% of it online. I don't know about you but sometimes the crowds at stores can become unbearable. I find long checkout lines to be physically painful these days. The internet was the way for me this go round. :)

Yummy Treats

Straight up, I will admit, I'm newish to baking. I can make a mean cheesecake but when it comes to cookies, well, I lack. The kids and I have dabbled a bit in baking and we will continue on our journey. Our contribution for our family dinners will be baked goods such as, Christmas crack, peanut clusters and cookies. I've found that when I slow down and incorporate my kids into these activities, the takeaway is so much more than a pile of sweets. I'd rather them remember this time as cooking with Mom than Mom was too busy and stressed to give us her time.

Our Tree

Our Tree came from my husbands grandparents and was gifted to us about 6 years ago. It's 8 foot tall and absolutely beautiful. The lights that came with it no longer work but that's OK! We cover it's branches in multi colored LED lights ... we go with a colorful theme every year. My hubby and I put up the lights and let the kids do the decorating. Our tree fills up with so many ornaments made at school or ornaments that were gifted to us in no time flat! It's truly a beautiful sight.

Christmas Movie List... you know you have one :)

Home Alone, A Christmas Story, Nightmare Before Christmas ... these top our list. Pop some popcorn, make some hot cocoa and put on a movie. Family movie night is my favorite night of the week. :)

What are your Christmas traditions? What is your favorite Christmas memory??
