Popping Arrows Messy Bun Beanie pattern

This beanie patterns for an adult size head. It begins from the bottom up so if you need a different size, just measure the head around the ears to determine how long to make your starting chain. Any number of chains can be used.


Materials Needed:

Worsted weight yarn

5.5 mm hook

Scissors

Yarn needle

Button for embellishment .. Whatever ya like


Stitches used in this pattern:

Chain stitch

Single crochet

Half double crochet

Double crochet

Double crochet in 3rd loop of stitch

Half double crochet decrease

Double crochet decrease ​

Single crochet decrease

Slip stitch


Begin with a chain of 66 , join to beginning chain

Row 1: chain up 2 (counts as first hdc) hdc in every stitch around. Join in 2nd stitch of chain 2.

Row 2:chain up 3 (counts as first dc) Dc in 3rd loop of remaining stitches of the row. Join in 3rd loop of beginning dc.

Row 3: chain up 2 (counts as first hdc) Hdc in remaining stitches of the row. Join in the 2nd stitch of beginning chain.

Row 4: chain up 3 (counts as first dc) Dc in 3rd loop of remaining stitches of the row. Join in 3rd loop of beginning dc For the body of the hat our beginning chains do not count as a stitch, they are merely used as a filler

Row 5: Chain up 3, dc in same stitch and every stitch around. Join in 3rd stitch of beginning chain.

Row 6 – 10 **Repeat row 5**

Row 11: chain up 3, work decrease in same stitch and next and in every 5th and 6th stitch. Work a dc in any remaining stitches you may have left. Join in first dc.

Row 12: chain up 3, work decrease in same stitch and next and in every 4th and 5th stitch. Work a dc in any remaining stitches you may have left. Join in first dc.

Row 13: chain up 3, work a decrease in same stitch and next and in every 4th and 3rd stitch. Work a dc in any remaining stitches you may have left. Join in first dc.

Row 14: chain up 2, work a hdc decrease in same stitch and next stitch and in every 3rd and 4th stitch. Work a hdc in any remaining stitches you may have left. Join in first hdc.

Row 15: chain up 1, work a sc decrease in same and next stitch and in every 2nd and 3rd stitch. Work a sc in any remaining stitches you may have left. Join in first sc.

Row 16: chain up 1, work sc decreases across the row. Join in first sc. **repeat this row if you want a smaller opening at the top of your hat**
